Youth camps are the place to be. They are a lot of fun, and can change your life for the better. Let me explain.
When I was about 16 years old, my parents enrolled my brother and me in a Christian camp in upstate New York called Word of Life. I should have been grateful, but I was not happy about it. It was a new experience and I did not like getting out of my comfort zone.
But as the experience unfolded, I began to enjoy myself. I saw mountains, forests, giant pine trees, a massive lake, and a beautiful island. The island contained hundreds of young campers like me, basketball courts, paintball, music, and cool activities like an ice cream cruise, a beach party, and opportunities to make new friends.
When I met my cabin mates and attended the first program, I was thrilled and knew it was going to be one of the most fun things I had ever experienced. I participated in the camp for 10 years—five as a camper and five as a counselor. The camp changed my life, giving me confidence, friends, and wonderful memories.
A youth camp might change your life for the better. Here are a few opportunities. I attended all of these in my middle and high school days.
