Make a friend

Life is dull without friends, and nothing of significance can be achieved without them.

C.S. Lewis shared his stories with a group of friends known as the Inklings. George Washington had a cabinet of advisers. Walt Disney’s cartoons were brought to life by a group of artists. Jesus’s twelve disciples spread Christianity around the world.

King Solomon wrote about the value of friendship:

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, ESV)

True friends can keep you out of trouble, and they can help you get out of trouble, too. Friends increase one’s comfort and happiness. And close friends are stronger together and can accomplish more as a team than apart.

How to make friends

The way to make friends is to be friendly. Being friendly involves being considerate and polite.

To form high-quality friendships, you must develop your character and consider the needs of others.
